Sweetest
Heart of Mary Catholic Church -
Located in Detroit's near eastside, this gothic-style Polish parish
church is a beauty to behold. Award winning stained glass windows,
antique organ, and lots of compasionate, devoted parishioners makes
this a true Detroit icon.
St.
Albertus Catholic Church -
This Polish church is now closed but the Polish American Historical
Society still operates it for tours and weddings. Masses
are still said monthy. Beautiful stained glass windows and
woodwork. The first Polish parish in Detroit.
St.
Josaphat Catholic Church -
Just across the I-75 freeway from Sweetest Heart of Mary and
St. Albertus Churches, the parish of St. Josaphat rounds
out the "trinity" of Polish churches on Detroit's near eastside.
It has lovely stained glass windows and also has murals of
Poland. Beautiful!
